ENGAGE, INSPIRE, CONNECT

Starting in September 11, 2022  please join us at 9:30am in the Church for worship as you are comfortable.

Otherwise, you can join us live on our YouTube channel at 9:30am (or later in the day as your schedule permits).

Experience the presence of God at First Congregational UCC of Oconomowoc.  We are a small congregation with a large heart. Together as a church family, we will grow stronger in our faith journey, dig deeper in the world around us and seek to gain understanding to our questions.

Let our vision shine on your spiritual journey as we “engage and inspire all generations to connect with God through love and service.”

About Us

I feel God’s love and peace so strongly through the incredible music at our church services. My family and I feel so blessed to be part of a church that encourages everyone to share their musical gifts.

~ Julie P. – UCC Church Member

8 a.m. Traditional Service

Our traditional service is perfect for those seeking a quiet place to receive the Lord’s word.  Rejoice in hymns as Karl leads our chancel choir through beautiful musical pieces.

10 a.m. Connections Service

The connections service includes our church’s praise team led by Luke Edgewood. This service is designed to let us explore our faith through today’s Christian music, a meaningful message, and friends sharing their faith. You can expect joy and little feet dancing to the beat of the band. All are welcome to start in the sanctuary and after a brief Children’s Message, youth are excused for a fun and engaging Sunday School session during the remainder of the service.

Core Beliefs

“All are welcome”: We believe that everyone is welcome and has a responsibility to support and participate in the life and ministry of the church.

That they may all be one”: This is the motto of the UCC.  It reflects a spirit of unity on which the church is based and points toward future efforts to heal the divisions within the church.

“Testimonies of faith rather than tests of faith”:  Faith can be expressed in many different ways, the UCC has no formula that is a test of faith.

“Priesthood of all believers”: All members of the UCC are called to minister to other people and to participate as equals in the life of the church.  Each of us have direct access to the grace of God through prayer and reflection.

“There is yet more light and truth to break forth from God’s Holy Word”:  This classic statement assumes the primacy of the Bible as our source for understanding the good news.  It recognizes that the Bible, though written in specific historical times and places, still speaks to us in our present condition.

“A church striving for justice”:  As part of our church mission, we strive to serve other people through feeding the hungry, liberating the oppressed, providing shelter for the homeless or healing for those who hurt.

This is only a summary of our core beliefs.  If you have questions please speak with the pastor or a member of our church.

Join Us

One may become a member of our congregation through one of three methods:

  • First, confirmation, after a youth concludes a year-long study of preparation then he/she may publicly confess their faith and become a member of our congregation. Usually, a youth is in ninth grade when they attend confirmation.
  • Second, a person may simply transfer his/her membership from another congregation to our congregation through a letter of transfer.
  • Third, a person who is new to the faith may simply make a public profession of faith and be baptized.

If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a member of First Congregational UCC please call the church office at 262-567-4461 or click the button to fill out a form.
